Q: Why the name “Icebox?”
A: ‘Coz an icebox is where you put things if you want to keep it cool.
Q: Really now? What ever happened to refrigerators?
A: We think nobody would want to book a studio called “Refrigerator Imaging”.
Q: So what kind of equipment do you use during shoots?
A: We use high-end professional Nikon digital SLRs that range from 10-16 megapixels partnered with top-of-the line f2.8 lenses covering all focal lengths from ultra-wide angle, normal zoom, and telephoto lenses.
Q: What are f2.8 lenses? And how is it relevant to my wedding photos?
A: These kinds of lenses are professional lenses which are a cut above the rest from consumer and kit lenses that come with cameras purchased off the shelf. It delivers optimum image sharpness. The special optic glass present in them ensures good image quality especially during low-lighting situations. There are only selected photo studios that carry f2.8 lenses across all focal lengths.
Q: How would you describe your brand of photography?
A: It is really difficult for us to describe our style as aesthetics are subjective and vary from one person to another. Yes, we do posed and “canned” shots, but we try our best to make it look natural. If it is in the personality of the couple, we would bust out a few glamor or fashion-inspired shots.
Sometimes, we will ask you to do something totally mundane and in turn try to capture your nuances of movements and facial expressions. We also do a lot of documentary and photojournalistic photography during your wedding day.
Basically, we as photographers love to have fun during shoots. We don’t tell you to just smile, we try to make you smile and laugh with our silly antics and often times corny jokes! Sometimes we often poke fun at ourselves by exaggeratingly demonstrating a pose or a scenario so that you yourselves will not feel awkward or in doing them. Yes… we do the sexy bridal poses for you first!
Q: Fine, but are your photographers real professionals?
A: Icebox Imaging maintains a core pool of selected professional photographers. We do not hire hobbyists nor accept OJTs to take pictures on your wedding day and post them on our website or submit them to you as a final product (no matter how brilliant of a profit saving idea that would be haha!) All our photographers are practicing professionals and have invested relevant amount of time and money in their education, experience and equipment.
Q: Do you provide the booking and coordination of prenup locations?
A: What we do is suggest locations, themes and concepts for your prenup. It will be your responsibility to secure the necessary permits and pay the necessary fees for a given location. Though we do give endorsement letters to you if an establishment requires it.
Q: What if i dont want a prenup shoot? What sort of discount can i get?
A. It is unfortunate that some other couples opt to forego a prenup shoot for a number of reasons which we totally understand. Sadly, our prenup shoots are included as a free perk to our wedding coverage package, hence we cannot really give out a discount or an exchange service for something that is already for free to begin with. Q: How long do prenup shoots take and how many sets of wardrobe should we bring?
A. Roughly 3-4 hours. The sun gives of the best light during 6-10am and 2-6pm. Any of those 2 times can be suitable for your shoot. About 2-3 wardrobe looks would be sufficient.
Q: What time will your team arrive on my wedding day?
A: We arrive the time the bride's makeup will start.
Q: Are we required to provide for your food?
A: Two bottles of caffeine-loaded energy drinks (which we love taking) just wont cut it for a 12-hour work day. Your wedding day is a fast-paced event hence it requires lots of energy for our team to keep up. It is indicated in the contract that a client agrees to provide food for the duration of the whole event, and we are grateful that you will. (wink, wink)
Q: You are a photo studio right? Why do you offer video services then?
A: Most of our clients, for ease, would want both photo and video to be coordinated and done under one roof. To meet this demand, we offer the Wedding Film service to interested clients. And like our pool of photographers, there is only a selected few that can shoot and edit an Icebox wedding video.
