“Passion” is such a big word thrown around these days that we, as artists, would like to believe that our passion does not lie in the photographic process per se. The delusion for most photographers is to be caught up in the picture taking process. We try not to fall prey into the enchantment and hyped feeling of holding a camera in one's hand, rather, the camera is just a means to which we channel our own real passion - the wonders and nuances of life.
We approach each photograph with a level of detachment... emotional but never spell bound, in love but never really entrapped. We respect and sometimes even fear the visual image for it has its own life and freewill. It can never be dictated upon even by its author. A photograph is never pre-destined to a final treatment nor a single interpretation, and we are never the ones who solely decide its fate. All we do as artists and photographers is wait until it speaks and tells us what it wants to be.
We are not in the business of photography. We do not sell photos, rather we sell a vision, a statement, a need to break away and be free. We sell memories and experiences and create new ones through our works. And it is that funny and tingly feeling inside of you when first seeing our photos that we bank on.
The ultimate goal is to take the perfect photograph which we know will never happen. That is why there is a never ending struggle for knowledge and innovation. Because one day my friend, even when all hope is lost... if we just have faith and try hard enough... we just might find it.
